what a strangely productive morning//got up super early, which i never do// packed up the bike and did a nice morning ride through the city//finally installed my bird feeder//according to kaytee bird seed it'll attract: cardinals, chickadees, nuthatches, morning doves, juncos, rufous-sided towhees, white-crowned sparrows and grosbeaks//did some light garden work//primed two pieces of wood that i'm about to paint later today//and it is barely 10:30 am//

today's weather forecast was that of heavy rain. boy, were they wrong. i looked out the window and saw nothing but clear electric blue skies with high whispy clouds hovering in the distance.

so i packed up my bike and hit up my new favorite trail at crystal springs..a 12 mile loop.

on my ride, i saw tons of western fence lizards scurrying around the piping hot cement. back in 2005, me and my homie kogacheeks used to catch em and give them (what i thought was) a luxurious life complete with an endless cricket buffet and heating lamp.

other wildlife spotted included tons of insects and dragonflies(many which hit my face as i sped down the path), an island scrub jay, a stellar jay, american robins, various ducks, a red tailed hawk, caspian terns, white crowned sparrows, and tons of little song birds that provided the soundtrack to today's ride//
